Google released their newest wireless earbuds, the Google Pixel Buds 2, at the end of April and some say they may be even better than Apple AirPods. Priced at $179, they are currently available in Clearly White but three more colors are upcoming: Oh So Orange, Quite Mint, and Almost Black.
Equipped with 12mm dynamic speakers, the Pixel Buds 2 have high-quality audio that is clear and dynamic. Audio adapts automatically as you move between noisy and quiet places so your conversations go uninterrupted. Calls focus on your voice with built-in sensors and mics that allow you to be clear wherever you are. It is important to note that Pixel Buds 2 are not equipped with noise-canceling features. However, while listening to music or other audio, it will automatically pause when the earbuds are removed from the ears.
They come in an egg shaped case with a matte finish.
To charge the Pixel Buds, either use a USB-C cable or place on a compatible wireless charging pad. A single charge will give five hours of listening. To get 24 hours worth of charge bring the charging case with you.
The Pixel Buds 2 have been designed for customizable comfort. With a three point anchor system designed for a secure fit, the earbuds will stay in place throughout a rigorous workout. They are also sweat and water resistant. These lightweight buds also have a spatial vent which is a small opening that allows airflow through and can reduce the “plugged-ear feeling.”
Hands-free messages: use Google Assistant by saying “Hey Google” to send messages, start your playlist, or get directions.
Real-time translations: whether you are in another country or with multilingual friends, real-time translations are helpful
Pairing: The Pixel Buds 2 are easy to pair with devices. With a single tap they connect with any Bluetooth 4.0+ devices.
Touch control: swipe left or right to adjust the volume, tap to play or pause
Find My Device: if the earbuds are missing, use Find My Device to locate them as they emit a ringing noise.
Google Pixel Buds 2 are tough competition for Apple AirPods. With a sleek design and appealing features, these earbuds are hard to pass up. Five hours worth of listening for a single charge is practical for most users and real-time translations is a compelling attribute.
